While I am no botanist and find the animal world much more interesting, I must admit that there is something about plants that captivates the mind once one takes the time to take a closer look. All plants need to take up water from the soil, exchange gases through their leaves, and survive in spite of all of the harsh environmental conditions present where they live. And unlike animals, plants cannot move to better conditions. As a result, plants have evolved very differently in different habitats around the world. This is why the plant kingdom is one of the more diverse kingdoms of large organisms. My photography only captures a small portion of the diversity in shape, form, and function that plants have been able to achieve.
